This Wednesday night, Nocturnal Sound Krew and Bamp Project debut Mayer Hawthorne & the County live for one night only at Pipeline Cafe. Creatively talented and gifted with the sound of music, this breakout singer is taking the industry by storm with his retro-soul sound influenced by legendary soul icons Smokey Robinson, Barry White, Isaac Hayes, and Curtis Mayfield.

The emerging soul sensation self-produced his debut album A Strange Arrangement with catchy and hit singles “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out,” “Maybe So, Maybe No,” and “Your Easy Lovin’ Ain’t Pleasin’ Nothin’” quickly winning the hearts of celebrity fans like Justin Timberlake and John Mayer, who recently Tweeted, “Record of the year goes to Mayer Hawthorne,” and then invited the rookie to open for him on New Year’s Eve.

Opening the show will be new Brushfire Records artist J Radio. JRADIO is a new hip hop musician from the group of creative minds that brought you the Gorillaz, Deltron and Beastie Boys. This project is an explosive expansion of the rock and hip hop genres featuring an eclectic mix of collaborators like Jack Johnson, Money Mark, Kid Koala, Dan the Automator, Mario C and Domino from Hieroglyphics. Expect a few surprise guests to sit on this group’s Honolulu debut
