Prototype has opened its first flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo. The new space, a 1,100-square-foot store stocking headwear, branded apparel and lifestyle accessories, is set to open Monday, April 1, 2013. “We’re focused on growing our retail presence internationally so having a flagship store in Japan’s main city is really exciting,” said Tomoaki Nagao, Prototype's Japan’s Managing Director.
Located in Tokyo’s key youth fashion district, PROTOTYPE TOKYO will collaborate regularly with Japanese artists and brands, offering flagship-exclusive products to those who visit the store. Special edition caps from New Era along with a variety of other items will be available at the flagship’s Grand Opening.
The look and feel of the PROTOTYPE TOKYO Flagship store reflects Prototype’s goal of elevating consumer’s experience and further raising the profile of the brand’s breadth of line. The space was designed by the team in Japan and Hawaii to illustrate Prototype’s high standards for quality. The minimalist space aims to create a unique shopping experience to showcase each collection.
The PROTOTYPE TOKYO store is the first of several PROTOTYPE stores scheduled to open in 2013. Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Chicago are the next cities on the list. April Fools.
